RAD Labs is a certified Airtable partner

My name is Jack Morrow, and I'm a freelance Airtable Architect based in Austin, Texas. I formed Rapid Application Development Laboratories (RAD Labs) to advance the art and science of Airtable app development

As a former Airtable employee, I worked as a Solutions Engineer and served as Airtable’s first full time Application Architect. In both roles, I sought to devise novel, native solutions to the challenges presented by my customers and internal stakeholders.

After developing 60+ prototypes and managing two dozen Airtable internal apps in production, I’ve established reusable design patterns that accelerate delivery and support my Airtable design philosophy.

The RAD Labs Design Philosophy

RAD Apps embody the Vitruvian ideals of architecture:

Firmitas (is it solid? will it scale?)

Utilitas (is it useful? does it work?)

Venustas (is it beautiful? does it create delight?)

RAD Apps are interface-first.

Since 2021 when Interface Designer was first released, I have designed all my apps to be feature-complete at the interface layer. This means end users are spared the complexity of the underlying base and can engage with the app without needing to know anything about how Airtable works.

RAD Apps are enriched by direct feedback from end users.

While SOWs seek to capture a client’s functional requirements, end users have their own undocumented needs. I take great pride in collaborating with domain experts to ensure alignment between the requirements of the business and the needs of end users.

RAD Apps are built to last.

When designing an application for a client, my top priority is the sustainability of the solution, and I measure success based on the tenure of my apps in production.

In addition to project-based work, I offer my services as an Airtable Architect on a retained basis. This model allows me to continuously deploy new features to your apps, provide enablement and support for your end users, and lay the foundation for your long term success on the Airtable platform.

While I will accept subcontract work in specific cases, I do not subcontract any aspect of my services to third parties or other individuals.

RAD Labs understood our complex situation across multiple departments and quickly built an incredible tool that enabled us to have data on hand for planning and push our projects through in a very organized and timely fashion.
Jack has been an amazing partner

Jack has been an amazing partner as we're developing a very complex app to manage our marketing campaigns. There's no functionality we've requested that he has not been able to provide a solution. He's very patient as we talk through what we need, and has even begun speaking our industry's language.
